CSiBridge 2014 V16.1.0 Enhancements

Significant enhancements included in CSiBridge 2014 (v16.1.0):

• Superstructure design checking has been implemented for steel superstructure sections according to the Indian Roads Congress code IRC:22-2008. Superstructure types supported include steel I-girders and hybrid I-girders with composite concrete deck.
• Superstructure design checking has been extended to include composite bridge superstructures with steel U-girders according to the "Eurocode EN 1994-2" code (EN 1994-2:2005, Eurocode 4: Design of composite steel and concrete structures - Part 2: General rules and rules for bridges).
• Superstructure design checking has been updated according to the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, 6th Edition, 2013 Interim Revisions. In addition, AASHTO bridge rating accounts for the 2013 interim revisions, and AASHTO seismic bridge design accounts for the 2012 and 2014 interim revisions.
• Concrete frame design is now available according to Eurocode 2-2004, including Eurocode 8-2004 seismic requirements.
• Steel frame design is now available according to Eurocode 3-2005, including Eurocode 8-2004 seismic requirements.
• An enhancement has been implemented for defining tendons in the Bridge Modeler where the options to move and copy tendons now take into account any existing parametric variations that affect the location and inclination of the girders.
• The specification of the notional size used for time-dependent creep and shrinkage analysis has been enhanced to now be specified with the frame and shell section properties instead of with the material property.
• A new staged-construction operation “Change Section & Age” is now available allowing specification of the “Age at Add” when changing frame sections or shell sections.
• The bridge modeler now allows individual bridge objects to be locked to prevent updating their linked models.
• Table output can now request the correspondence between the response components at a single location for additive-, range-, and enveloping-type load combinations. Results that admit correspondence includes most displacement, force, and stress response quantities.

Requirements
Processor:

• Minimum: Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon 64
• Recommended: Intel Core 2 Duo, AMD Athlon 64 X2, or better
• A CPU that has SSE2 support is required
• The SAPFire® Analytical Engine includes a multi-threaded solver that can take advantage of multi-core CPUs

Operating System:

• Microsoft® Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or later, Microsoft® Windows Vista, or Microsoft® Windows 7, 32- and 64-bit versions
• With a 64 bit operating system, the SAPFire® Analytical Engine can utilize more than 4 GB of RAM, making it possible to more efficiently solve larger problems.

Memory:

• Minimum: 2 GB for XP O/S, 4 GB for Vista/Windows 7 O/S
• Recommended: 4 GB for 32-bit O/S, 8 GB or more for 64-bit O/S
• The problem size that can be solved & the solution speed increases considerably with more RAM
• Vista/Windows 7 requires more RAM than XP for the operating system itself

Disk Space:

• 6 GB to install the program.
• Recommended: 500GB or larger Hard Disk Drive (7200 rpm SATA)
• Additional space required for running and storing model files and analysis results, dependent upon the size of the models

Video Card:

• Minimum: Supporting 1024 by 768 resolution and 16 bits colors for standard (GDI+) graphics mode
• Recommended: Discrete video card with NVIDIA GPU or equivalent and dedicated graphics RAM (512 Mb or larger) for DirectX graphics mode. The card must be DirectX 9.0c compatible (DirectX SDK Aug 2009 - Build 9.27.1734.0).
• DirectX graphics mode fully utilizes the hardware acceleration provided by a GPU and dedicated graphics RAM.
• For better graphics quality in terms of anti-aliasing and line thickness, the device raster drawing capabilities should support legacy depth bias.

Scene building
SimLab Composer provides users with all the needed tools to build 3D senses from existing models. In addition to the draggers found in modern 3D applications to place models in the scene, SimLab Composer offers unique tools like snap to object and snap to ground to make building 3D scenes intuitive and fast.
SimLab Composer maintains the assembly structure of imported 3D models. This enables users to select the level to work on (face, body, part, subassembly or assembly).

3D Sharing

The recipient of the file will be able to view, rotate, and interact with the 3D scene. 3D PDF was designed to be very easy to use for none technical users.
• 3D HTML (WebGL): SimLab Composer supports sharing models as HTML files that can be opened using any of the leading web browsers including Google Chrome, Fire Fox, Internet explorer and Safari by utilizing the web browser's native WebGL capabilties
• Exporting to Android/iPad: 3D scenes created in SimLab Composer, can be exported to Android/iPad as SimLab archive files (*.zim). SimLab Archive files can be opened using SimLab CAD Viewer on iPad, and Android.

Rendering

• SimLab Composer Rendering edition includes SimLab RT Renderer, a high quality real time renderer. SimLab RT has full integration with SimLab Composer, and is suitable for interior and exterior rendering.
• Assigning materials can be done by dragging materials from the material library in SimLab Composer and dropping them on the 3D objects.

Animation

• SimLab Composer animation edition allows users to easily create animations showing the motion of a designed machine, or a walkthrough of a house.
• Animations created in SimLab Composer Animation Edition can be rendered and used to create movies that can be posted on the web and shared with others.
• Animations created in SimLab Composer Animation Edition can be used to create animated 3D PDF, and HTML / Web GL files which include the motion of objects and cameras.
